Ebooks – 6 tips for a better reading experience

Bethan blogs about her experience reading ebooks from a PC. Interesting that someone actually does that. But the article also stresses the importance of setting fonts/backgrounds and screen size to what is comfortable for you.

  • Download different readers, and try them out.
  • Try different setting within the reader
  • Have big text.
  • Figure out the various ways you can turn pages within the program.
  • Don’t be tempted into full-screen mode, either.
  • Take breaks!
  • She concludes: “I’ve seen library sites that explain that you can change font size etc, but not saying why you should. Is anyone doing this?

Since ebrary is still mostly readable via a PC (they may be introducing mobile-app viewing), this would be of interest to our students.
