- Where can students go to be closer to the learning and/or the phenomenon-under-study?
- Imagine students taking your course. Where (what specific locations or situations) could they be situated that would allow them to learn something better than, or different than in, say a classroom?
- Now…go farther into your imagineering. What could they be doing with the mobile devices? Could they be writing a note, making an aaudio file, taking a picture, making a short video, texting?

Good thinking
When doing needs assessment for database project add to report photos an /or interview of owner of collection discussing their needs.
Picture students in a grocery store photographing the labels of the ingredients of their favourite meal. The point is to begin the process of thinking about the kind of molecules that living things are
Made of.
The learning takes place on the mobile device. Students use library catalogues and websites on phone to see where libraries are at in terms of mobile services and recommendations would make.
There are apps for physics where you can videotape motion and collect and graph data right off the video
Students could be doing a photo shoot in a photo studio or on location and taking photographs of their sets for analysis later on. They could be taking photos in an art gallery of photos that they would like to discuss.
Rrecording a conversation with a specialist (native speaker for a language course, for example) then posting the video for more discussion in class.
Students on a field trip to a library (my field) able to take photos, upload to blog with comments about their experience. Focus on one thing that surprised or impressed them.
Dropbox is also good for sharing in the cloud
Speaking of YouTube o might ask the students to post short whiteboard solution of some fraction problem in YouTube .
I will use observations the students can do in a grocery store to find the best unit price . Save On does not post unit price – so my Math for Elementary Ed. will do a collection of images of price tags – we will process those in class.
Formation of project teams – particularly in management courses which lend themselves to understanding our individual behavior in real time.
